Downwind landing on a concrete ramp with the Tornado, between two 100meter long piers filled with yachts and scant room to turn taught me the following technique. Go downwind with just one rudder in the water, sit ready to pop it. No other foils. When you get to the place you want to stop, pop the rudder and center the main/sheet it in. Boat will weathervane in a very limited radius and behave itself since it have very little "grip" in the water. Please try it out and see if it works for you before you head for "Omaha Beach".
