Just for the record, I have pitch-polled a Hobie Getaway... BUT... there were 4 people aboard, the wind was over 20mph and the wave faces were in the 5ft range.

I crewed on H16's and sailed a H14 in high school. That was enough for me. There are too many other boats out there that are less finicky and faster. Mind you, I race open class and dislike hobie class racing.

You want a good / cheap boat? Track down a Nacra 5.2 or a 5.7. I swear the 5.7 is the funnest thing around and will have plenty of room, easy to sail fast. The 5.2 will be cheaper, but has dagger boards, boom...ect... Either can be bought for the same price as a Hobie 16.
