BTW it is now 110 miles with the marks we had to round.

It was a good day! Downwind start with light winds. We went out to sea after Destin Pass which was the wrong way-the guys who went to the beach first were faster. Wind built though out the day and it was a beat to Pensacola. Gulf was rough and took a while to figure out that we HAD to lift the hull to get through. (we are lake sailors!) Took us 8.75 hours to round the point then the real fun started!!! Four hours of a downwind run. As the wind came up and the inter coastal water flattened I trapped out and we flew. We had a great duke out with Andy and Mike!! They had chased us down and passed us; then the conditions became just right and we were able to come up on their sterns. Had a better jibe and was able to get away and stay away from them.
Best thing was that we finished into a beautiful setting sun and was on the beach tied down before dark!
It was a good race and the F16's had a great showing. Chris was really hot and finished with the top guys about 1-1.5 hours ahead of us. Our time was 12hours 48 mins. Andy was I would say was about 20 minutes behind us and Jody finished at 14hours.
