This past weekend, Kerr Lake was down quite a bit. Our usual beach was a bit slimy with exposed water plants, so we launched from the other side of the peninsula instead. It was nice and sandy with only a bit of mud. I didn't use the carpets I brought. The wind was pretty good on Saturday - enough for some of us to trap out at times and we got in three races. Sunday was a bit lighter, with a persistent shift in one race, and variable wind in the other. All in all, it was typical lake sailing and the races were won by those who read the wind right.

October usually brings more wind at Kerr Lake, so I'm looking forward to next month's racing. One of the Isotope sailors is hosting an "Isotope social" at his house on the lake, and has invited any other cats to join us. We'll either motor across the lake, or drive to his house (which takes longer); have dinner there; and sleep over. He's out of bed space, but if you want to bring a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor, you're welcome. It should be fun.

Eric
