thanks for your comment. Yes I'm familiar with the normal pole constructions. But I was looking for something more simple and rigid and very important at sea, something quick. That is why I also made the "forks"" at both ends of the pole.
I can work my way up to the end of the pole if all my weight is needed.And again because the fork is loosely tied up to the hull/beam, I have something to grasp for (there is no dolphin striker!)
I forgot to mention that it can also be used to raise the mast in a bridle construction.
