<**** than the Worrell 1000, anyone remember that? Seems pretty familiar – lots of questions, few answers.


I'm going to beg to differ. Assuming all the details with the travel authorization get squared away, I think this will be one of the premier distance races this year.

I'm not trying to sound snippy, but... this is a voluntary deal. I want to do the race; I have the experience to do the race. I accept the risks and know that if I do the race it will only be on a boat that I know is 110% ready and with a skipper I trust. When I did the Worrell, I sailed with a moron that I didn't know... taught me a LOT about what NOT to do. I've had a few other experiences and know to only attempt something like this with a skipper that I trust and mesh well with on the boat. If you have serious reservations about doing a race like this then you (a general "you", not anyone specifically) should stay on the beach. Confidence is key but a respect for the conditions and proper preparation is required.
