My sailing club recently picked up a Nacra infusion second-hand, it's an awesome boat, I'm liking its downwind performance compared to the original Nacra F18s which I've previously sailed. Anyways, we've come across a bunch of little problems that need to be fixed, and I would appreciate a bit of advice on how to get things set up properly.
-The camcleat for the spinaker tackline that goes on the front crossbeam has torn out. I know where the replacement should go and how it should be oriented. How do I mount it? The Harken camcleats use screws to mount, and I can't get to the interior of the beam to put nuts in there. The aluminum seems quite thin and would likely be too soft to thread the screws directly to the beam. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount the camcleat?
-Our spinaker sheets seem to be a bit too short. The lazy sheets always seem to be under some tension. It's also pretty much improssible to get further back than approximately the rear crossbar when you're trimming the kite from the wire, because you run out of spin sheet. I've compared the length of the sheet on the infusion to the original Nacra's sheet, and the Infusion's are several feet shorter. Does anyone know what the proper length of the sheet should be? I'm wondering if the previous owner for some reason cut the sheets shorter, maybe he was running them differently from the standard set-up (he'd modified a bunch of other things). Currently I'm following the setup guides way of running the sheets.
