I've been reading this post but it didn't peak my interest until I rememberd the experience I had last year with my new Nissan truck and trailer lights. I'm an electrical engineer and it took me 2.5 hours (at midnight no-less upon buying a new boat and planning to trailer it back for a 4 hour drive) to figure out that the bed on my new truck was not grounded to the frame. Go figure...be sure the bed has continuity with the frame before you (or the dealer) grounds the lighting to it. This even could have ramifications from a corrosion standpoint. Email me for details on that one - too long and boring to explain on this post.
