Like Chris says, the pole will stick out the back due to the length of the lever needed to right a 5.8 solo
I worked out how far I needed to be out on the pole to right my Stingray solo then cut the rest off but it still stuck out the back a fair way. The advantage of the pole is it self stows after you use it.
