The wind was light and variable today. It did not go according to the forecasts. It was warmer and sunnier than forecast so a thermal induced seabreeze fought off the gradient wind and caused a tug of war in the race area. After trying to race in the morning, the boats were sent to shore. A couple hours later another attempt got the one race in with a light but relatively steady (acceptably variable) wind and then a second race was started. The boats got about 1 or 2 hundred yards off the line and sailed right into the wind convergence zone and the race was abandoned and the boats sent in. On the way in the forecasted westerly finally showed up but didn't last that long so it was a good call to go in. A light easterly is forecast tomorrow with mostly sunny skies so it should only be reinforced with any thermal activity. We shall see.
