I don't think the stress above the hounds has been a problem, Peter did find a crack after this weekend, but the mast has had a lot of use and had a internal hound fitting, which requires cutting a bigger hole than a external one.

Over the years I have been amazed at what the Mossie mast will put up with from the spinnaker , all the stuff I was told in the early days of spinnakers broke other masts . So I don't think there is any need for more rigging .
