Cell Phones?.... Err Who exactly do you call when your boat is blowing away while you float? Calling 911 ??? can you imagine trying to explain where you are to the landlubber on the phone,.... (what address are you at ...exactly?) Meanwhile waves break over your head....

I agree with Surf... a hand held... is the party line to the coast guard on a boat... ... or any other boater out there.... You probably don't really care... who picks your butt up! Everyone on the water understands... Pan Pan Pan... or Mayday Mayday Mayday.

The phone is great to get some help to drag the boat off of some deserted beach... don't ask me how i know!
