If I tie them to the side stays it's too forward. Any ideas?
Tied to the shrouds with enough slack to let the wheels move aft to the balance point... that is the basics. You can add a short line to tie the middle of the beach wheels axel to the aft beam to hold them aft.
Like Rick said, cradles (critical) and a "T" handle work well.
