Hey Dave, do yourself a favor and buy the trapeze return system from hobie(not murrays, too expensive) for about $25.00 This sytem will give you 4 anchor points with which to attach your trap gear, ie: dogbone, adjuster handle ect... Anyway this system will protect you and your crew from being wrapped around the mast in a pitch pole situation. So here is the low down: On the mast tang there are 3 holes. the lower hole is for the shrouds, the middle larger whole is for a a bow shackle to run through with the trap wires on each side. the bow shackle spins upo and the pin goes through the upper whole(safety I guess) from your wirescoming downe you should have a handle with a swaged eye under it. Here is wher you have options. You can now either use a static system that needs to be adjusted befor hand or an active system that can be adjusted on the fly. if you go to the hobie or murrays catalog you can see the difference and you can also make what ever system you want cheaper than buying it prefabed. So after you decide what system this is where your recoil shockcord attaches to and thats that! I know it brief and probably a littl ehard to understand, but look in the catalog's and you'll get idea's! Good luck! Sorry for the endless spelling errors but I'm typing this very quickly and not thinking or looking!
