Yes the boat has wings and the crew is big 500 lb total. Replacing the hull does not stop the other hull from failing or a replacement hull as well. I was thinking that it would be best to reinforce both hulls to avoid future problems.
If you want to avoid future problems, get a different boat. You're too big for an old Hobie 18 with wings.
