Fun day on the water. The results don't really speak to the sailing, I think everyone was in the lead at one point! We lost a few boats after G1 while gybing downwind in the river, then stayed close to shore in the doldrums near Dyer Island and got a magic puff that took us to the front of the fleet on a double wire spin reach. We were leading the F18 fleet for a while after passing bridge #2 but just couldn't keep it together on the long beat home to the finish. Got passed by 2 boats right at the finish which was a bummer, mostly because we didn't know where the finish was. We were less than 2 minutes out of 5th and the entire fleet finished within 17 minutes after a 7 hour, 40 mile race! All in all a good weekend, and much thanks to the entire New England fleet for hosting us and continuing to share their knowledge. Also a huge round of applause to Mike for lending his excellent PRO skills to the task.
