Day 1 was beautiful. A close reach to the island in about 10-12kts of breeze, we (RC) just barely got there in front of the lead boat, Michael McNair and Krista Vind on a newly acquired Hobie 20 (a replacement for the one destroyed at Dauphin Island). 36 boats started, 32 made the trip to the island for chicken and beer. After lunch and the obligatory group picture we started Race2 for the return trip. Another fast one, lead boats made the trip in right about an hour each way.

Sunday morning is blustery and blowing about 15kts with it expected to build. Fortunately the anticipated storms aren't expected until late afternoon. Most everyone decided to pack it in, but Joe Pocreva, Ken Altman, and Michael Argood decided to take a shot at beating the record for the Round Deer Island course. One Hobie 16, Boz and Rafe decide to sail a short course to #12 and back. We are all upstairs at the club waiting for sails to appear behind Deer Island.

Another great weekend at Ocean Springs Yacht Club!
