Hi Mary -Hi or rather Mahalo David ,-Ha Jake,-
howdy Psailor
agree WITH ALL -

ITS COLD here in Mi ,--minus 11 F OR SOMETHING REDICULAS ,And a big snowstorm on the way .
whew ,having lived in Hawai and S Florida in earlier years these long MI winters get tough at times ,-but do enjoy X C sking,-ICE FISHING .Hockey , etc
anyway - another boat restoration project ,--and story on how it started .-
I picked up a H-18 last year from an old friend moving to Calif ,-it had a trailex with it and purchased all for about half the cost of the alum. trailex trailer -
needed a new trailer for the I-20 .
THEN found a trailer for 200 ,but it had another H-18 on it !! but only the basic platform ,-no mast or sails ,-so I have that also .
Thought I might take it and remove all the added weight ,cut off the deck lip , grind out all excess fg .
repaint etc etc ,-
then get a modern lightweight mast and sails w snuffer spin and have a great familiar old friend to sail in lighter more hi-performance form with added spin snuffer.

It seems some enterprizing person could obtain the non -used, non -built, discontinued H-18 molds from H and find the source of crossbeams etc and offer this boat to nostalga cat sailors --{like me },--think there would be a market for it ,
It would certainly be a wonderfull distance race boat .

They would be much like classic reproduction cars that are built to look just like the classic originals but have modern building methods and materials inside .

The fun aspect is they could be much faster than their new replacement 18 counterparts .
