hi there,
I am very confussed with the maxsurf software. I contacted a distrubutor in my area (UK) for help and he just gave me a price list. I told him that I intended to modify my 5m catamaran design using software and he told me that maxsurf/T would be the best for the job.
Maxsurf Pro £3,800
A true three-dimensional hull modeler, Maxsurf uses multiple NURB surfaces to
model any type of hull shape. Maxsurf includes a full range of hull modeling
tools, curvature analysis displays, 3D viewing and rendering, built in plotting
and printing, calculation of offsets and upright hydrostatics.
Maxsurf Plus £1,275
Maxsurf Plus is an affordable, limited surface version of Maxsurf, featuring
most of Maxsurf Pro's capabilities with a limit of six surfaces available for
use in any one design. The Parametric Variation function from Maxsurf Pro is not
included.
Maxsurf/T £475
Maxsurf/T is an affordable, limited surface version of Maxsurf, featuring most
of Maxsurf Pro's capabilities with a limit of three surfaces available for use
in any one design. The Parametric Variation function from Maxsurf Pro is not
included.
Would I also need a hydrostatics and stability software?
Hydromax Pro £2,550
Hydromax is a powerful intact and damage stability analysis program. It includes
a built in weight and balance spreadsheet, damage conditions, IMO stability
criteria, tank calibrations, comprehensive upright hydrostatics, large angle
stability, longitudinal strength, KN tables and cross curves of stability.
Hydromax has a number of output capabilities.
Hydromax/S £975
Hydromax/S is a simplified version of Hydromax containing only the intact
hydrostatics and stability functions.
I would be greatful for any advice
regards
Tom Bevan
