I don't know the Hobie setup, and it looks like Hobie assumes you will stuff the spinnaker in a bag on the tramp. For the snuffer used by the NACRA I-17R, we originally rigged the 2-forestay system with a small wire going from the point the 2 forestays meet and tied to the middle of the spin pole to hold the pole up. This, in effect, gave you 3 forestays for the spinnaker to go around on each gybe. NACRA developed a lower bridle, single forestay system that most use now. If you are developing your own system, it is do-able with the dual or single forestay system. You just need to figure how to hold the pole up. The wires from the tack to the bows (and the mast and sheets, of course) carry all the forces from the sail back to the boat. The single forestay gives fewer stays to clear on a gybe.
