Evening Folks:
Starting around Christmas of last year...I have been posting various questions about how to bring my "New" (to me) 1980 Hobie 16' back from the dead. Lots of you gave me excellent advice and feedback.
Happy to report, with winter fast approaching here in the midwest, I got in my first sail (an evening sail at that) last week on Lake Michigan. Everything went well. That is if you count leaving the mast support and pin in while sailing...LOL. Thank God it was a drifter (almost no wind once the sun went down) or I am sure I would have broken something.
Will try to post some pix in the coming days. Today was an Indian Summer day...but could not get anyone to go sailing. Well, tommorow is suppossed to be another warm day.
I could never have gotten her back from the grave without your help!
Thanks,
Poor Paul
P.S. For any of you who also store your boats outside in the sub zero weather; am I the only person who puts a couple of quarts of RV antifreeze inside each hull...every winter?
