i offered a formula that took into loa,beam,total weight including crew, and height of crew but Darlene didn't present it.

I recall the thread about boat weight along time ago but on my 22 it didn't make much difference on back to back sails within 90 minutes. SO I really think the simpler the better. Of course light boats accelerate better but heavier boats are harder to slow down. It basically comes down to waterline, total boat weight, beam width and sail area. If the major filtering factor is loa then the rest should be adaptable.

With the decline in catsailing over the past years; it seems to me that more open regattas would be benefical to the sport if there were a variety of cats sailing. If they all look alike its kind of boring to me...

Besides I just follow everybody else anyway...
