the trap wire set up will work like that ... IIRC you can buy them like that from Murray...
Boat set up... I have to remove all shrouds and wires and forestay in order to store the mast in my garage. If the mast remains on the trailer and you are not concerned about people stealing you stuff - sure keep it attached to boat and mast. It will safe you some time setting the boat up.
