We have noticed the Spitfire a while back and since 2002 it is grandfathered into the F16 setup. It is a neat little boat. It does have some extra sailarea; about 0.5 sq. mtr. in the main, 0.8 in the jib and 0.5 in the spi but then is also carries some 30 kg extra righting mass if you know what I mean. Its Texel/ISAF ratings are just slower than ours, so on the whole I think both will be extremely comparable to one another. The fact that masts and hulls are of equal size means that they will handle pretty much the same. Area is not that important when say mast length is identical.

A few are coming out to Texel and maybe we can hook up with them.
