This Itinerary of week #1 is so that you can get an idea of which islands we plan to visit. There may be changes due to recommendations of the charter company, weather conditions and crew preferences.

<br>You may choose your own arrival date to Athens, but remember to allow for flight and other transportation delays and besides Athens has a lot of sight seeing opportunities.

<br> Fri June 14 Arrive Athens
<br> Take in the night life around the Plaka area and go up Pynx Hill for the 9 PM light show of the Acropolis narrated in English.
<br>
<br>Sat June 15 Athens (check local listings for closing dates/times)
<br> Museum choices in Athens include: 1) Nat'l Archeological, 2) Greek Folk Art, 3) Benaki, 4) Byznatine, 5) Acropolis, 6) Nat'l Gallery of Paining, 7) Natural History, 8) Ancient Agora.
<br> Walks and Views include: 1) Acropolis, 2) National Gardens, 3) Mt Likavittos (funicular available), 4) Hadrians Arch &amp; Temple of Zeus, 5) Waterclock &amp; Ruins, 6) 4th Century Olympic Stadium renovated for the 1896 beginning of the Modern Olympics, 7) see the Agora &amp; best preserved temple in Athens.
<br> Catch an event of the summer festival at the 160 AD Roman Theater - Odeon of Herodes Atticus - on the side of the Acropolis
<br> Take a day tour including lunch to Mycanea, Epidaurus and Naplion.

<br>Sun June 16 Athens - Meet at Sailboat by 3 PM. Depart Harbor and sail to Cape Sounio or Kea
<br> Visit the Monstiraki Flea Market held only on Sunday mornings. And by 11 AM catch the changing of the Guard at Syntagma Square to see the entire regiment of Men in skirts and tights!!

<br>Mon June 17 Kea
<br> Inhabited @ 3000 BC is known for it's wine, honey and almonds. The city of Ioulis has red terra cotta roofs and 26 windmills. The town hall has statues of Apollo and Athena. The ancient acropolis now holds a Venetian castle built in 1210 with the stones from the ancient walls and the original Temple of Apollo.

<br>Tue June 18 Andros
<br> Gavrio is the main harbor. Twelve miles away Andros Town is home to some of Greece's wealthiest ship owning families, the main street is paved with marble slabs and old mansions are now gov't buildings. Apoikia has a spring which water is bottled from.

<br>Wed June 19 Tinos
<br> The villages are studded with 1300 decorative dovecotes used for raising doves. There is a Pilgrimage church and archeological museum. Nice beaches near the harbor and see the Sanctuary of Poseidon and Amphritite. Good bus services or take a taxi to explore the island.
<br>
<br>Thu June 20 Mykonos/Day trip to Delos
<br> Mykonos - Many of the Greek postcards are of Mykonos. Brightly painted fishing boats and knitted sweaters. Prices are higher when a cruise ship is in port. Known for it's spectacular sunsets. Tangle of streets built to confuse the pirates and now tourists, just wander, when ready to return to the harbor keep heading downhill. Visit the working windmill as part of the Folk Museum.
<br> Delos - the uninhabited island which is now an open air museum. The birth place of Artemis and Apollo. See the Dolphin mosaic, lion terrace and 300 BC theater which held 5,500 people.

<br>Fri June 21 Syros
<br> Ermoupoli Harbor town is the largest in the Cyclades Islands. There are archeological sites dating from 2800 to 2300 BC. Visit the lower and upper towns and the medieval quarter of Ano Syros. Venture to Kini 6 miles from the main city to a small fishing village or nearby Delfini beach - popular with nudists. Or visit the resort towns of Poseidonia and Vari.

<br>Sat June 22 Andiparos
<br> 15th century fortress town. Avoid the crowds here and visit the breathtaking array of stalactites and stalagmites in the cave of Antiparos only a 30 min walk from the harbor.
<br> Sun June 23 Paros/Day trip to Thira (Santorini)
<br> Paros - Hub of the Ferry Boat system. Visit the church of 100 doors founded by St Helen, mother of Constantine. It is the oldest in Greece in continuous use built in the 6th century AD. Behind the church is the archeological museum.
<br> Thira - Island formed by a collapsed volcano. Take the 580 steps up to town or hire a donkey. Tends to be more expensive than Athens since this is one of the most popular islands and all the water is shipped in. Has one of the best archeological finds of all the islands including Cretan pottery. Wine from Thira tends to be sweet and strong.
