Hey Dave, go easy on Stewart, he is, after all, Australian .
The Auzzie boatbuilding mindset is to make things lighter while still allowing homebuilders to be competitive in simple plywood construction, they don`t understand why the F18 rules insist on building a boat UP to minimum weight rather than down to it. Most home-builders won`t consider an F18 project simply because they don`t want to add THAT MUCH lead unless building a keelboat (I`m just kidding here. Nice to see home-built Capricorns and Blade F18`s entering the market, will bring the cost of being competitive down in F18, especially in markets like mine, although F18 will not take off here easily, Hobie Tigers are the only F18`s and it looks set to stay that way.) No-one would build a competitor, only to be disallowed to race at Hobie events, which would be the only events catering for them in real terms.
