Hi Tim and Gary, thanks for the reply's...

On the fore and aft faces of the centre board slot there is some padding which looks like styrene foam that is then covered [on the wearing faces]with a cloth tape. I thought it may be to stop the boards from jamming, or to help with raising/lowering.

However they are pretty beaten up, think I will need to make some new pieces, was reading in the old forum where Peter Foulsum mentioned "fitted the fibreglassed foam wedges" and "fitting rubber strips to the fore and aft faces of the new slots". I guess I am trying to get a better understanding of what they do and how to make some new ones.

The repaint started in mid October with strippng the boat back to bare timber, lots of work lots of time, anticipated to have it all done by the start of December, but you know the story..

Have some friends [monohull] that head to Eden each year, really seem to enjoy it, may head down there this year [with or without a boat !!].

Kind regards

Paul
