BTW, this may be a subject of a diff thread, but what happens with Sea Breezes when there is a barrier island? I assume the wind is a little lighter in the protected waters as it is a little "confused"

The seabreeze is a pretty large system that usually can extend out up to a mile or more on the water. Compared to the barrier islands, the seabreeze system is considerably larger usually sees little affect from the barrier island itself.
