Andrew

I am changing the system to a Harken 2613 Triple Block Ratchet running off the traveler car due to a number of issues..

1. I want to clear the deck for Mk2, better crew access for tacking.
2. The assembly in the photo is 700g plus the 200g for the triple block at the rear beam and 180 for the boom pulley above the RF7. The Harken which will replace this 1080g assembly is 245g. Massive weight gain.
3. I keep collecting my knee's on the stainless bracket, "ouch".
4. The centre sheeting bows the boom down and the centre beam up, further reducing access under the boom on a tack of which I occasionally get caught by the mainsheet running along the boom.

There was no funtional problem other than weight but I am used to a rear sheeting system if thats what you call it. I went on a weight saving frenzy yesterday on the mozzie and got 3.5Kg out of it just in un-needed bits and pieces and oversized rope. This particular mozzie is a little overweight hence the name "Phat Cat", anything I can do to reduce weight is a plus. Now that I have removed this system the boat looks so much cleaner.

Cheers

Tony
