Sorry Gary, something is going on. Those of us way up north are looking at another winter. The DT's are setting in. Therefore hijacks happen. I felt that it would of been rude to not answer Stewart, yet worse to start a new thread on the conversation. I suppose a PM should have been the proper course of action.

Now, do I answer Mary or not? Here goes nothing. 15 years ago was the heydey of the Tornado fleet here. By the time I started in 1994, it was already waning. There are still 3 of these old-school T's on the beach, but I think I raced against only 1 of them and that was on 1 day.
The Unicorn guy you are thinking about is probably Dick Harper. He was a fantastic inspiration, but was forced to quit due to his arthritis. He was in his late 80's at the time. Another Unicorn does come out on the race course but I usually don't see him after the start line (unless I'm looking back for some reason). He bought new plywood hulls this year and may become more competitive.

There are some sea-sprays still but they don't come to the race course at all.

Al Schuster (on these forums) has an old-school T on this lake. We PM'd early this year but were never able to get together. There was a guy who bought a Nacra F18 last year. I talked to the Nacra dealer and asked him to forward my number. The F18 didn't call. I haven't seen him on the lake although he would be at the opposite end.

I have heard about the Nacra fleet at Mameo. A bunch of cottage owners loosely organized. It is on my to-do list to try to get invited there.

I am building a trailer this winter and do hope to take the F16 to some other lakes. I have been invited down to California, but seeing as how I haven't ever trailered farther than 50 miles, I am going to do this in baby-steps.
