I'm glad you guys are going to make the effort to join us. At 9:30 am on saturday the 19th you'll have a 4.5 knot current propelling you thru plum gut. However, the distance from there to the southold bay starting line is about 12 nautical miles with some foul currents awaiting you in greenport harbor. You might want to leave extra time or see if you can sail over on friday. If you can do that I could look into B&B's or campsites to stay at. I could also provide transportation for 6 people at a time (my minivan) to and from dinner and the race site. Let me know ASAP if this sounds good to any of you. I understand if you can't convince your employer that sailing is much more important than work.If you at least come over and see how nice the sail around shelter island is-I think you'll definately make next year's race (#20) Greg- gildergove@optonline.net
