Of course, no matter WHAT ANYONE says, I fully expect to hear what is said at EVERY regatta I travel to - "Gee, it NEVER does this here!" <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Ain't that the truth. I fully expect exactly what John has said here. I expect a race in 5 and a race in 25 with everything in between.
The lake isn't quite as shallow as John says. It's very uniform in depth where we sail 15-30ft. There will be no issues with hitting bottom in the area where we will sail.
The wind is front driven. We get lots of fronts through that time of year and that should give us some good wind.
The locals think it's choppy because there are so many lakes around here that are really small and down in canyons. The locals steer clear of Carlyle because it's wide open and can generate chop which bass boats don't like too much. In general we sail in very flat water compared to other venues.
