Thanks for that. Sadly I have used epoxy to fare the boat and I don't have enough skill with a spray unit to DIY. Locals just won't spray gel coat. I will be more careful next time as I feel like a Luddite painting it.
Nothing wrong with painting. Tornados are painted. The only thing I would do if I were you is try to keep about a 4-inch strip of the bottom gelcoat. It's a better surface for dealing with the beach, beach wheels, etc. and it's easy to touch-up.
