The anti-slip particles offered by Awl-Grip and others, as well as the anti-slip tapes, are designed for walking on with shoes. They just don't work well on a cat deck where your legs and butt will sit and slide. There is a company called Gibco that makes silicone molds of many different anti-skid patterns. With these you can re-create the OEM style molded-in anti-slip pattern, if you wish. They have a one page website good for contact info here:

For removing contact or decal adhesive, there happens to be a very effective product designed specifally for that purpose. I have used many gallons of it and can tell you it make this really awful task quite easy and comfortable.
