Hi All
I've made my own stainless steel mast base plate with the rotation arm sweeping the tramp (a class style). I'm also going to have a hinge to raise the mast solo.
I just wanted to find out if anyone knew if the socket which is mounted onto the front beam actually goes through the top surface of the beam and into the striker post, when setting up the beam, instructions I have for the main beam assembly said to drill a pilot hole for the mast step, the fitting socket fitting I think I'm getting from AHPC, will be threaded so as far as I can tell I will need to tap a thread into aluminium plug in the striker post. I hope this says what I'm trying to say <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
I assume I make a stainless plate which supports the mast socket fitting on the beam, after I've fitted the hinge under the socket, is it welded to this plate or screwed in tight?
I think I know the answer to these questions but like a second opinion or the correct answer if I'm wrong
Thanks
