This is unfortunate for the obvious reasons, but also because it provides amunition for keel boaters to trash multihulls. The Reynolds 33 capsizes of last year caused the San Diego YC to ban them from their races. They used a new rule requiring all boats to be self righting. It could be a real set back, providing another reason for monohull groups to keep multis out of their games if they are of a mind to do so.
