Ok Time for one more of my stupid questions.

It is my understanding:

that formula 20 racing is for different boats of about 20 ft in length to compete together????

That there is no formula 20 racing in NA because the rules to make it fair do not exist????

The different boats of about 20 Ft are in fact different and travel at different speeds as they exist in their classes. and this is considered unfair by the slower boats.

That even with the exact same boat different crews will sail at different speeds.

If you are not going to modify a boat to race faster than it already does in its class then why not just portsmith the boats and be done with it.

So my stupid question is WHY? Why are we trying to create rules for a new classification to be fair to all different entering boats.

Why not simply pick the fastest 20 ft boat currently in existance and invite others to do what they feel they must to be able to compete with it and start racing.

or keep the rules simple something like any 20 ft cat with less than 900 combined Sq ft of sail and no hydrofoils can compete.

I'm Marc and I just dont know anything.
