Charlie Ogletree, sailing his new VectorworksMarine built BIMARE XJ won hands down - (three bullets)- the 2007 George Washington regatta held last weekend on the Lake Eustis, finishing in front of a qualified fleet of 13 A catters (among them Bob Webbon, Woody Coope, Ben Hall etc.)
It was very cold all the weekend and very windy on Sunday, so they only got 3 races in on Saturday.
Woody Cope was indicated again as the fastest upwind (as at the A class Midwintes) but Charlie could drive much faster down wind.
It is said that Charlie will campaign a VMI XJ for all the 2007 season including the 2007 A cat Worlds.
Next big race is the Gulfport F16/Acat regatta March 17. 20+ boats are expected.
