Well I know a bunch of you Florida boys and girls are probably feeling beat this evening after getting back from Spring Fever, but its time for roll call for Lake Ponchartrain this coming weekend.

Its going to be a rare chance for you U.S. F18/I20 sailors to put it up against the finest from the nation of Texas.

So who's in and who's running scared? John Williams, Kirk?

Chris.

I figure I would just smoke all ya'll actually! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> There has to be some reason why my boat's DPN is almost the same as an I20. Don't know why that is <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Considering I will evidently be on the line with you guys. Just watch out where you point those 400lb monsters <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

BTW.. any more open class boats gonna show up?

Hey Chris -

Hate to punk out on what looks to be a top-shelf event, but Alter Cup is upon me and four weekend passes in a month is impossible to manage. I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of this F18 driving, so if wishes were fishes I'd be there to buy the first round. On the up-side, I'm already registered for Nationals, so I know I'll see you there.

Have fun - enjoy the NOLA-style hospitality. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

The good news: There will be at least one other 18HT on the line.

The bad news: Mark Ederer will be sailing it - so you will likely get a good view of the back of his head <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

SWEET.. I was going to hunt down his phone number and see if he was going to be there.
How do you know I will be looking at the back of his head and not the other way around?? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
YEP, I suppose he might create a problem for me I guess... esp with my FAT a-- crew (aka, half owner) and all. MArk is a good guy, I met him at perf midw.

Folks,

Here is how we will sweeten the competition for all of the doublehanded spinnaker and non-spinnaker boats at this event. First, three boats still makes a class and you will get scored as a class if you get three boats. This includes the open class. Second, we are going to create a "bonus" class for all of the doublehanded teams. We think there will be a total of 4-5 I-20's, 2 18HT's, a Hobie 20, and 6-8 F-18's. We are going to start you all together, record the elapsed times and then score you all against each other with your Portsmouth numbers. Hope that makes the trip and the event that much more worthwhile for you. Remember, we are serving dinner on Friday and Saturday nights so try to make it Friday afternoon to hang out with us.

If any singlehanded spinnaker boats show up (F-16/I-17R), we'll include you in this group also.

Thanks for the offer but I think no F16's will take you up on this invitation this time. Rumour cirquit has it that the F16 boys are all going to the Alter Cup event the following weekend as spectators. This takes up their play time allowed by their wifes.

Maybe next time.

Fair winds and Good luck to all who are going

Wouter
