Posts: 393 Syracuse,N.Y | Sitting at 94 boats with rumors of more coming. Hope to hit that elusive 100 boat number.
There will be events for the kids.
Rum from our PUR friends. Wine from the Seneca lake region. Maybe the Iowa boys can bring some clear stuff in a mason jar.

Posts: 393 Syracuse,N.Y | There is not an active Fleet in Geneva. Division 16 is hosting the event in a central location and having all the Fleets help out. Fleet 204 is the host for the Pirate theme welcome party Friday night. Registration is up to 96 boats and I don't see a few names that are planning on being there. The 100 boat number is within reach. So come on out. There are 12 youth teams with 3 all girl teams(very cool). 15 women teams with lots of very good sailors and 19 old men on very little boats. Entry List

Unregistered | Whether it is due to the global climate change or other factors, upstate New York has seen summers change from no wind all summer long to an unbelievable string of perfect catamaran sailing days. Though, my experience is on Lake Ontario. Having raced on the finger lakes in the past they seem to have unique wind patterns, which I have not followed recently. | | | Re: Geneva N.Y. Posts: 216 Lakewood, Colorado | Interesting to see how low the numbers are for BOTH fleets @ the California Nationals. Sad to see that there is not one team even near the West Coast attending. I guess they are just going to make the best of the 16 opens and the 20 event in SF. Hope your even is great!Dan

Posts: 393 Syracuse,N.Y | There are about 15 H16 sailors that will be sailing the Mini-Mega that would normally go to the 16 Nationals. The back to back weeks are dragging down the H16 numbers. If it was a month or more out, I believe there would be the normal attendance(over 60). There have been conflicts with the F18 event in the past and now within the HCA. Maybe the F18 Nationals will be the winner in all this with people looking for a second big event to attend in the fall.

Posts: 917 Issaquah, WA, USA | Great Site and Coverage! Wish we were there. Just announced, the 2008 North Americans for the H-17, H-18, and Tiger will be at Lake Harrison, BC, Canada, August 25-29, 2008.
For more info, check with Paul Evenden, H-18 and Gillian Thomson H-16W and H-18, both racing in Geneva.
Most of our local Northwest sailors are on the way to Alameda for the H-16 NA's, next week.

Posts: 393 Syracuse,N.Y | It looks like the final count is 101 Boats. The 17 and 18's are not getting that good wind we saw over the weekend. The joke in recent years is, if you want wind, schedule a Women and Youth event. Fridays the last three years have been very windy for the 14's. This gets my hopes up and then I need to get the parachute out for my fall through the standings as it lightens up. This team must be checking the bow tangs. They don't seem to be onboard ![[Linked Image]](http://www.crabbe.ca/gallery/albums/wpw-20070724/normal_DSC_4930.JPG)

Posts: 4,119 Northfield Mn | Friday was fun. Some of the most fun sailing I've ever had. The wind wasn't as abusive as the waves. Really interesting trying to keep a 14 upright with waves like that. My one pitch: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.hobienac.com/pics/1_1_Fri_Jul20/sm_dsc_4697.jpg)
I'm boatless.

Notice who's crewing for Jim on the 18 <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
