as mentioned by Wouter a lot of F16's entered the long distance race after the Global Challenge in Zandvoort. What fantastic results <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />. The F16's realy showed this mixed fleet of 60+ cats how to do it. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
With Marcus on the Formula Catamarans Australia Blade, being first F16 home <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />. Placing 5th over the line and 4th on handicap, beaten only by three 20's and one F18. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> A outstanding result for this Australian designed and built boat which has only been in the water for a week. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
With 13 20's and 14 F18's in the fleet 4 F16's finished in the top 10, a outstanding result for F16's well done to all.
When i compare the results,why does a Viper F16 two up have a faster Texel Rating 101 than a "normal" F16 two up 102? Not a large difference, but here it decided between place 9 and 10. Blade F16 (2) * BEL-666 102 3:14:04, 3:10:16 9 Viper 2 up------AUS 101 101 3:13:16, 3:11:21 10

The NAM-REM race was a great way to end the week with a good showing from the F16s, especially given the tough conditions: although the wind and surf had dropped significantly, the waves were still pretty mean and I found beating through them for the best part of two hours pretty trying. The 3 mile reach was a bit better, if nerve wracking, and the run back was a lot better.
Here's a still from the pole-cam. Video to follow...
Where's all the pics of the Viper? <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
"House prices have risen by nearly 25 percent over the past two years. Although speculative activity has increased in some areas, at a national level these price increases largely reflect strong economic fundamentals." – Ben Bernanke – 2005
Marcus may not take to kindly to me letting out a closely guarded secret But, his performance over the last week or so looks even better when you consider that he is sailing at his “endurance weight” of 120 Kgs. It would seem that the F16 is a class where people of all different heights, weights, and age can be competitive in.
