I just bought my first catamaran and am getting ready to move to Fort Worth. I wondered if there are any Catamaran communities out that direction. I'm a single young professional just beginning to learn to sail, so I'm hoping to make some friends who I can do some sailing with and learn as I go. Thanks.

The Dallas/Ft Worth area has LOTS of sailing several yacht clubs on the over 30 lakes in the area, including one of the largest and most active Hobie fleets in the country.
There is a Hobie event on the 15th & 16th of September in Lawton, OK and the following weekend September 22nd & 23rd is the Mid America's Area Championship on lake Lewisville. What kind of a cat do you have ?

I got me a Hobie 14 TJ this past Monday. The Hulls are in great shape but I'm going to have to replace the foot strap webbing on the tramp and find a new jib (previous owners apparently had some pet rats). I getting ready to move and cash is short but I'm super motivated to get out and learn to sail before winter sets in.

Btw, thanks for the reply. I really want to make it out to the big race at the end of the month. Lake levels have been out of control so I wonder if it is still at Lake Lewisville?
