No big annoucements just yet, still doing some workings out. I've got get rid of a pool table first, so I can have my shed back. I'm going to use up the ply I bought off Jim Boyer when he shut shop. It will be a cat though.

F-16 Mosquito catamaran only way to go.
mast $300
boom $80
beams $100
plans $80
deck jig free for members
all available through the association

I hope that answers what you should do with left over ply wood.

Hi Greymatter

Thanks but I already have a mossie, and another one, and another one if I want it. #444, #741 and #????can't remember that one, have to have a look. So I might tackle something else.

I've been thinking hard about F16, but to be totally honest, I don't know if it suits 'me'. Its not to say I don't like them, the complete opposite applies. I'm just not convinced its the right move for me personally. I will however keep watching and listening to the class, and maybe in a couple of years, my thinking may have changed.

What I am thinking of doing is being discussed on another section of the forum, but I'm a bit over all the crap that goes with it, so I'll just stay out of it now.

Regards

Hey Jeff

We've got Rivolli Bay on our calender, where and what is your club again?

When you say 15km RUN, I hope you mean sails out, boards up type RUN, otherwise you would have more chance of me running for Prime Minister.

I reckon Rivolli Bays at Beachport about an hour from here and I still didn't know about it! whens that on?
Our club is Lascepede Bay sailing club located in Kingston, South East, South Australia 1.5 hours north of Mt Gambier, 3 hours south of Adelaide. We sail 2 Stingrays, one 5.7 Taipan, 5 A class ,5 420's plus others than sometimes pop in.
The Lobster regatta can be hard work but thats the fun in it, last year was a sort of reach where the people who tacked out to sea did a lot better than the people like me that stayed in with the offshore bullets. Can take up to 3 hours if the wind dies but I dont know if its ever been cancelled due to strong wind. Our day is fairly predictable and our seabreeze comes in about 2pm which is when we club sail but we start the Lobster regatta about 10am to try and ensure the race doesn't get blown out.
I'm getting a few calls about preg testing over your way might even be able to have a beer with you this summer where are you based.
regards Jeff

At Derrinallum. Have moved to town now, off the farm, showers are so nice with pressure.

Rivoli Bay is at Southend, I've been to a couple of their regattas in the past, its on the 25th and 26th January, so probably not advertised too much yet.

I didn't realise there was a club at Kingston (also my dogs name) but I don't know the area very well either.

We have a Glenelg River Camp Social Weekend at or around Nelson on the 2nd and 3rd February. Warrnambool Regatta on the 23rd and 24th Feb. And the season finale at Lake Bullen Merri at Camperdown at Easter (1/2 hour south of here). Thats all I have listed on the Portland Calender.

Hi Jeff

Yes the new captain was in the middle of using that other type of trampoline on my trampoline, and got busted with the camera.

Still haven't launched it though, I think work is trying to break me, having our christmas breakup for work Saturday and then hoping (praying) Sunday is a nice day for a launch.

I think I have misaligned one of the centreboards somehow, so AFTER the launch, during the christmas break, I've a little job to do.

Regards

Yes just a club race day, two races in a pennant series I think. Theres a Taipan training day or weekend in Melbourne the week after, but I think i'd rather launch it quietly and have a putt around, rather than pushing the limits first time out.
