Time to clear you calendars for the events you really don't want to miss next season.

Here is one for ya.

The 2008 Performance North Americans is scheduled for August 25-28 in Caseville, Michigan on mighty Lake Huron.

There will be a tune up regatta on the same race site with a CRAM weekend event on August 23-24. This location, for those of you who have not been here before, is cat friendly. Broad flat sandy beach with an easy launch. Camping is available at the launch site with waterfront hotels nearby.

The website is up and running. The attending list is posted. No suprise here, the F 17 fleet has the jump on the rest of the fleets. This is F 17 country here in Michigan. Hope to see the other fleets join us. We had a blast last year. No reason not to have just as much fun again. We have been getting lots of practice the last few years putting these events on up here, and practice makes perfect. The team is rarin' to go and put on another one.

Attached is the link. Within the link is contact information. Let me know your plans and we can add you to the attending list.

Hi Eric,
Can't wait to come..How many F18s do you expect?
Can you please fill in the details on your web site regarding accomodations? A NOR would be nice as well.
Thanks,
Dave

We have no idea how many F 18's will attend. That's why we have developed the attending list. The more sailors that declare they are coming the more boats they may attract.

Attached in this post is last years F 17 NA web site. The NOR and everything else will be similar if not the same.

http://www.nacraclass.com/NCW2007/F17/North_American.htm

The host hotel is not completly negotiated yet, but it will probably be the Bella Vista. Don't contact them yet because the rate is not set yet.

Last years event was Saturday-Tuesday. This year the NA's will be a Monday-Thursday event. Throw in the CRAM lead in weekend and it makes for a potential 6 days of sailing.

Hi Guys

Is there any chance of there being a open class for the OTHER Performance Cats??? I have a P-19mx that I race and the H-18NAs are in BC Canada next year in August, I just can not afford a trip to the "left" coast (too much time and money). So I would consider dragging my P-19mx out to Michigan for the event if I knew that I could race in SOME class.

My crew, my 13 year old niece who did the 08'H-18NAs with me wants to race the P-19mx next year (it was the first cat she sailed and raced on @ 10years old !!!) She will not race a H-16("too boring"), when asked once; How did you learn too sail a H-16 (for fun)? Her reply was "by racing on my uncle's P-19"!!!! She's TOUGH!!!

Let me know if there is any interest

Sail Flat, Sail Fast
Harry

ps: Being a salt water sailor, I just can not get used to getting hit in the face with a wave when "lake sailing", it just does not taste right, somethings missing. And the boat is cleaner at the end of the regetta then at the beginning!!! Strange ...

I guess the monkey is on my back. The politically correct title of the event is the Nacra North American Championships. Old habits die hard. Since this is a Nacra event we want to see Nacras.

BTW were in the heck are the Nacra F 18's? We have the other fleets signing up. Hmmmmmm? Strong fleets are nearby so no worries they will.....eventually sign up. But what the heck its winter and since I can't sail I am trying to create a litte buzz with the attending list. It won't be winter forever. Even here in Michigan. (who'd de beat in dat bowl game anyway)

We are beginning to get some traction on the fleets. The F'n 17's are still leading but the Nacra 20's are making up ground. The F 18's are beginning to take a peek. Still waiting for the Nacra 6.0's 5.8's and Uni's to show up. They must be wiping off the dust or what? Old Dudes rule!

Come on guys and gals. Winter won't last forever.

The NOR is posted..

It can't snow forever.

Guaranteed this event will not be cancelled by a Hurricane or an earthquake or a forest fire. Heck it never rains in Michigan. We stole all that water from Canada. The polar bears are pissed.

sadly, its not looking like my boat will be ready for this event. I might come down and pretend like I can sail and just hang out on the beach :P

I definitley want to come... I think my chances are about 75%.
Nice to see Mark has some time to get sailing again!

How come no entry fees posted yet? What can be expected? 250 single 300 double?

If you show up on the beach early enough, find me and I'll get you on the course (I'm the PRO for the event). We can never have too many anchor-yankers and flag wavers!

Well...we finally have the cost of the event listed in the NOR. Its 230 for a single handed and 280 for two man boats...less 50 for meeting the early post marked registration date of August 1st. So if you register early it's 180 for a single handed and 230 for two man boats. Not too bad of a deal for four days of racing and at least four parties*...plus the give away stuff.

If you want to try the enduro....add the two day CRAM event the weekend before the NA's. Yep that would be six stright days of racing on Lake Huron. The CRAM event features a Luau* (this would be the fourth party) on Saturday night. If you are early registered for the NA's the cost of this Luau will also be covered. Lots of exotic liquid treats are free at this party too!

So all we ask now is you let us know you are coming so we can add you to the attending list.

Where are the Canadian's? Lot's of F 18's up in the Great White North. Let's here from ya..eh?

Dave, good to hear from you again.

The campsites at the reace site are going fast, but there are plenty of hotel rooms available. There is a nearby State Park that can handle the late sign up types. When we held the Nacra F 18 Worlds in Traverse City we had lots of racers from Canada. Hope to see our neighbors to the North join in on the fun. There was even a bunch from British Columbia....what a drive. Hope they make it again.

Twist some arms and get them to notify us that they are coming. <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />

St. Louis, MO,
I'm getting ready to send in my registration for double handed.

Registration link: Nacra Registration

Are 2 t-shirts included? Are 2 Social passes for skipper and crew included?

Do I take $50 off of $280 and send in $230?

Just want to get it right.

Thanks for hosting,
Mike Hill

Ack, I totally blew the pooch here. I thought this post was about the Performance Mid winters in Pensacola.

Not saying that I can make it now, but the boat is all patched up, getting new gelcoat sprayed on it this week. Practically everything now is brand new on it :P

St. Louis, MO,
Very cool of Eric and CRAM to host this up again this year. Let's show them how cool we are by preregistering for the event. I'm sure they already have bills rolling in that they have to cover.

Nacra Nationals

4 registered is sad. Lets send them in.

Its getting close to the cut off for the $50 reduction in entry fee for early registration (July 25).

Here is another incentive to get your registrations in before the deadline. All class trophies will be determined by the number of boats registered by that time. In addition, T shirts will not be guaranteed for late registration (after the 30 day advance registration date).

We can't guess how many people will show up at the last minute. So we will plan on the number of boats we know about, by July 25th.

Yeppers!

Now is the time to commit to the event and get your registration in! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Trophies and t-shirts will be ordered per number of registered by the drop dead date of 25 July. You can't whine if your class doesn't sign up and you get 1 trophy and 1 t-shirt!!! <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.catsailor.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
Help the planners out; just do it!
