At the last Tiger NA's Almost ALL boats with self rackers were using limiters on the jib car. ( A line tied to the car and then to a cleat in the center of the X-bar) It seemed that bout 4" inboard seemed to be the consensus.

Where are you sailing your Tiger?

The car stoped about 5 1/2" from the end of the track. Let me know if you have any more questions.
