If you have the results, could you post them?

Great race, each day started in light air, but built to a sea breeze around 12 - 15 mph. Beautiful conditions in a great location. Had an awesome time, thank you to all who made it possible! The results I remember from the awards are:

F18 class:
1st - Sandra Tartaglino/ Chris Burd
2nd - Rick Bliss/ Brandy Wood
3rd - Tyler Burd/ Garth
(not sure after this. There were 6 F18's)

Open Class:
1st - Chris Titcomb/ Emily Buckley N20
2nd - Joe Valnete/ John N20
3rd - Mike Ferrara/ Todd Ricardi N20
4th - Hobie 18 (not sure who)

We got to take home the overall trophy for first on corrected.
Chris

Copied from an email from Todd Williams, PRO for the event....

In spite of weather threats and some questionable weather Friday
night, we had a great weekend of sailing at this year's New England
100. Thanks go out to Frank Keefe for coming down to help, in spite
of being on crutches and Rick Bliss for doing a lot of the
preliminary work with the Quonset Development Corporation. The QDC
has made several significant changes to the facility at Compass Rose
Beach, but the site was still very useable and a great place to sail from.

We had 11 racers this year (and a couple of people who just came down
to sail), including 7 F-18s. The F-18 fleet turned out to be
extremely close, with everybody finishing with 12 minutes in combined
times. The finishes on Sunday were almost exactly the opposite of
those on Saturday.

Now, the results:

Class I (F-18 - elapsed time - both days)

1. Sandra Tartaligno 9:57:03 (corrected to Portsmouth 15:56:49)
2. Rick Bliss 10:03:07
3. Tyler Burd 10:03:10
4. Jim Zellmer 10:03:57
5. Mike Easton 10:05:08
6. Bill Bartlett 10:09:18
7. Rex Denton (WD on Saturday)

Class II (Open - corrected times - both days)

1. Chris Titcomb (n20) 15:51:26
2. Joe Valente (n20) 16:08:58
3. Mike Farrara (n20) 16:18:09
4. Richard Espinosa (H18SX) (DNF Sunday)

Full daily results will be forwarded and posted on the New England
Catamarans website in the near future.

Thanks again to everyone who came.

Todd Williams

Everyone but Mike Easton were on an Infussion. Mike and Tripp were sailing a 1st generation Nacra F18. They would have been higher in the standings, but had rudder damage on the first day. Tripp is getting a lot of practice sailing the last portion of a race leg with one rudder! I can't wait to see the times for individual days as the finishing positions really did flip flop for the F18 class.

Have you guys ever discussed doing another "old-school" event? You know, start in New London, end in New Bedford. Is there an anniversary year coming up in which you could try that?

Close does not describe it! On Sunday, *all* of the boats finished within a few (less than 10) minutes of each other. That's something considering the length of the course. The order changed throughout the race, we at least, encountered a few very close crosses on our sail.
