I am picking up an old El Toro dinghy for my daughter to play with when I am out playing with my Nacra5.2. Have any of you tried to fit a small dinghy on your catamaran trailers with the cat? It looks like I could put the El Toro between the pontoons at the front of the catamaran for transport. It is only 80lbs, so won't add much weight. Also, any of you cartop an El Toro in the past? I need to pick it up at Pinecrest next weekend, and want to put it on the roof of my minyvan. Any problems to watch out for cartopping a little tiny sailboat? Thanks, Dave

I did it with a Laser, and a RIB under a Hobie 16. Just mounted two carpeted 2x6's at a slight angle to the crossbeams on the trailer. Just make sure you leave enough room to clear the dolphin striker on your NACRA.
The men were amazed, and said, "What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?" Matthew 8:27

cool. The el toro was too good a deal to pass. $100 with sail and rigging. I will need to repair the boom. Nacra is waiting for parts/repairs so it can hit the water. It will be great to fit both boats on one trailer to minimise transport hastle, and space in my tiny back yard. Dave

El Toro is a little pram sailboat. It is about 8 feet long with a single sail. Lots of city rec departments have them. Many childrens aquatic programs use them as training boats for kids. They have their own regattas.

I put my vanguard 15 (almost 200 lbs) upside down on top of the beams of my nacra 6.0 for a 3 hour drive. I just put thick cushions in the front and back to elevate it above any hardware on the beams. That being said, i'm not sure how far of a distance is between the beams on a 5.2 and if the El Toro will reach both.

I searched for "trampoline dimensions" on Google for the 5.2. On the SLO Sail and Canvas site they had dimensions of 72"-74" between hulls depending on year. The El Toro is only 4' wide, so it shouldn't be a problem. Dave
