Hey Dermot, I just flew over Cork about 08:30 am your time, on my way to Kuwait, lots of funny looking white stuff all over the hill tops north of Cork! What is that stuff? It looked odd on the Emerald Isle! How often does that ever hapen? How is everyone over there doing with it? Any downhill skiing?

And there was lots more on the football feilds around London!

How about sending some of that white stuff over here.
Melbourne and Adelaide have been getting roasted with 45 deg C (113 F) last week in Melbourne.
The forecast has 44C (111 F) in Sydney's west this coming Sunday.
The air is thick with smoke from bush fires.

Yea, We are not used to it at all - snow and ice all week. Same over in UK. Airports closed, flights cancelled, huge delays on roads etc.

Well stay warm if you can!

What's next, raining frogs?? It must be the end of the world as we know it. (yes, I know the song, now who does it?)

Found this on You Tube, sort of what our training program is like. I'm sure they will now add water landings to the mix.

Still the same same in Singapore. 30 degrees each day and for the past 8 weeks 10 to 15 knots every day. Just awesome, none of this snow or heatwave stuff.

Well now that Delta has merged with North West, hopefully I might see Singpore one day. I'm sure by the time I get there, the weather will have changed... shocked

46.2 deg C (115 deg F) in Melbourne today, hottest since temps started to be recorded in 1850.,
47.9 deg C (118 deg F) in Avalon south of Melb.
Fires everywhere. 14 dead. Hope Gary and the others south of Melbourne are Ok. I'm north of Sydney, 180,000 hectares burnt out a few km south of me but the winds are from the north pushing the fires south. The people in Vic have it bad! .......and it is supposed to be hotter tomorrow!
180 deg shift in wind direction come Monday. Hopefully that will make the fires burn back on themselves and give the fire fighters a chance. I think we need some rain.

BTW:- It's flooding north of us in Queensland!

Wow, that is really hot! And the wild fires, those suck too. We get those every dry spring and summer, more so out west but here in Florida we have idiots who drive around and actually set them. Do they do that in Oz too or are the fires the result of lightning strikes? Hope you get some rain!
