I don't have a real gps (just an iphone with a knots p/hour app) and i am thinking about getting a 201 or 72.

What features do you use besides current speed and top speed with your gps?

VMG is way more important than speed. Track and bearing are good too. Same info in a different package.

When to make a left turn...

I've got the old GPS replay from Velocitek that allows you to load in several GPS trails from different boats and replay races on the computer. The new replay by Velocitek is very cool but I believe it only reads Velocitek products now.

The software you talk about is called "GPS Action Replay", there are two versions: a free one (the one distributed by Velocitek) and a commercial one.

It's a really powerful piece of software, but the UI is awful...

I second that - the UI is quite challenging.

THAT EXPLAINS IT! I was wondering why i could only turn right... it sure makes getting back to the beach a challenge sometimes...!
