Nasty, but possible. Two heavyweight fighters targeting both the F16 and A Class markets.

I don't think there is a hell of alot of performance difference between the F17 and the FXone, although I only have a handful of open regatta experiences to draw this from. The FXone number hasn't matured at all, where as people campaign the F17 on a regualar basis in open regatta's. I have to imagine that Curry alone has had an effect on the number. I know for a fact that the FXone is faster than its handicap number, just from racing against faster boats where I don't actually have a class. Around here I start with the H20's and at the end of last year was starting to do pretty well against them.

With that said, if the iCat really is 100#'s lighter than the FXone, it really won't be a competing model with the F17

And so when will we get the real weight if the iCat?

When either the Texel officials or SCHRS officials have independently confirmed that property.

Note that the SCHRS site STILL doesn't provide a rating for the much vaunted nacra F17 that supposedly won the French F104 nationals last year. Last piece of info is that the SCHRS committee is still not provided with a dependable measurements.

Lets face it. Both nacra and hobie have not been particulary dependable sources for these specifications in the past.

I guess we just have to wait a while

I'll probably have to buy one and weigh it.

Correct, the SCHRS group are STILL waiting for the measurements for the F17; only been 10 months.

maybe Hobie will be better at getting valid ratings for their boats.
