But how does it compare to the Nacra F17? Maybe that is what they were looking to compete with?
I don't think there is a hell of alot of performance difference between the F17 and the FXone, although I only have a handful of open regatta experiences to draw this from. The FXone number hasn't matured at all, where as people campaign the F17 on a regualar basis in open regatta's. I have to imagine that Curry alone has had an effect on the number. I know for a fact that the FXone is faster than its handicap number, just from racing against faster boats where I don't actually have a class. Around here I start with the H20's and at the end of last year was starting to do pretty well against them.
With that said, if the iCat really is 100#'s lighter than the FXone, it really won't be a competing model with the F17
